The New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for Adentan, Akosua Asaa Manu, has condemned the violent attack on her driver, allegedly carried out by some members of the National Democratic Congress camp.

Addressing the incident in an interview with the media on Monday, December 2, 2024, Akosua Manu stated that her driver, who was seriously injured, sustained deep wounds after allegedly being struck on the head with a stick by individuals allegedly wearing NDC paraphernalia.

She explained that her driver had stopped to eat while returning home from constituency engagements with the electorates when the incident occurred.

"I got word that my driver stopped to eat, and two people attacked him. One was wearing NDC paraphernalia, and the other was wearing a long robe. These are eyewitness accounts, and they say one of the attackers used a stick to hit his [driver] head. He had deep wounds and needed stitches… He's very hurt," she said.

Akosua Manu described the incident as repulsive and disgusting, stressing that the perpetrators showed no regard for her driver's life and intended to harm him if not for the timely intervention of eyewitnesses.

She further disclosed that a medical report has been obtained, and a formal complaint has been lodged at the police station for an investigation to be conducted.

"We have reported to the police and gotten a medical report and I know the police will do the needful. There are eyewitnesses to the persons involved, and they know them. For that to happen to him, I condemn it because it is repulsive and disgusting, to say the least, the blatant disregard for his life and what they did to him…" she added.
