The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has stated that the 2024 election should serve as a lesson to Ghanaians who place their trust in prophets.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Peace FM on December 10, 2024, Pratt criticised the prophets who predicted victory for presidential candidates.

He questioned the whereabouts of the prophets who predicted victory for the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

"This election should be a lesson to Ghanaians who put their trust in prophets," urging citizens to focus on practical solutions and professional advice, rather than relying on spiritual predictions.

He also advised Ghanaians to focus on practical ways of solving their challenges instead of running to prophets.

"If you find yourself in any form of challenge, you should think of ways to solve it, rather than running to prophets with the little money you have," he emphasised.

In the lead-up to the election, numerous prophets made predictions, with some asserting that former President John Dramani Mahama would be re-elected, while others claimed that Bawumia was divinely destined to win.

However, the election saw Mahama garnering 6,328,397 votes (56.55%) while Bawumia received 4,457,304 votes (41.61%).
