The paramount chief of the Ampeyoo Traditional area in the Oti Region, Nana Odeifuor Frimpong Ware II, has rendered an apology to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their inability to give the party a parliamentary seat in the Oti Region.
Speaking when the Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, paid a courtesy call on him as part of his campaign in the Oti Region, the Chief said it was unfortunate that residents failed to reward the party with a parliamentary seat in spite of the party being good to the region.
"We apologise for our inability to give the NPP a seat in Oti Region, despite the fact that the NPP maneuvered or encouraged and ensured that we have the Oti Region. Thank you for creating the region. We therefore wish to assure you that this time, there is no turning back; we are moving forward, and we will ensure that the seat becomes yours."
Nana Odeifuor Frimpong Ware II also commended Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for conducting his campaign on issues and devoid of insults.
"Let me say that I do appreciate the peaceful manner in which you are running the elections. Ever since your movement, we have never heard any insult or rancour from your outfit. This is a good sign; you have done well."
