Never leave one party for another - DKB advises creatives involved in politics

Popular Ghanaian comedian DKB has urged creatives who endorse political parties to resist the temptation of switching allegiances for better offers.

In an interview on TV3, the stand-up comedian recounted a valuable lesson from veteran actress Maame Dokono, who admitted that her biggest mistake was trying to align with two political parties simultaneously.

"It's a very diabolical thing to do to yourself because both parties are often interconnected. If you sell out one and move to the other, they may gossip about you," DKB explained.

Addressing creatives who might be tempted to switch parties for more advantageous positions, DKB, who recently endorsed the National Democratic Congress (NDC), warned, "Don't go. It's a trap. After the election, they'll both abandon you. So if you are with one, just stay with one, stick with one."

He also advised against attacking opposing political parties, stating, "If you're going to compete for someone to win, don't ever insult the opposition. Don't attack the opposition."

DKB's insights come ahead of the country’s December 7 general elections, which will see various political parties vying for seats. As the date approaches, political campaigns have intensified, with politicians employing different strategies to win over the electorate.
