Mr. Ralph Apetorgbor, the Deputy Communications Officer for the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, has commended the significant advancements made in the constituency due to numerous impactful projects initiated by the previous NDC administration.

These projects have notably contributed to the development of the Ga Central Municipality, enhancing various sectors including education, sanitation, and essential services.

In an interview with the media in Accra, Mr. Apetorgbor emphasized the NDC's contributions across multiple sectors.

He highlighted the party's focus on education, noting the construction of several classroom blocks. Key projects include the Grata D Shepherd Basic School at Awoshie Last Stop, a two-storey six-unit classroom block at Odorgonnor Model One Basic School, and additional two-storey buildings at Odorgonnor Model Two Basic School and Chantan Experimental Basic School at Tabora-Scorpion.

Other educational projects comprise a multi-storey structure for St. Justin Anglican Primary and Junior High School at Ablekuma Curve and the Anyaa Municipal Authority Basic School at Antie Aku.

Infrastructure improvements were also significant, with major road projects such as the four-to-six-lane Awoshie-Pokuase highway, the Kwashiman-Sowutuom-Ofankor road, and various access roads enhancing connectivity within the constituency.

Sanitation facilities saw notable upgrades as well. Mr. Apetorgbor mentioned the renovation of a 10-seater toilet facility at Chantan Cluster of Schools, the construction of new public toilets at Antie-Aku, and the Anyaa Bus Terminal.

He also noted the refurbishment of the Chantan market and the construction of a two-storey building for offices and stores, though the second phase of this project has been abandoned by the current government.

Mr. Apetorgbor expressed concern over the abandonment of some projects initiated by the previous NDC government by the current administration.

He assured that an NDC government would prioritize completing these projects, including the unfinished hospital and neglected market at Ablekuma-Abaase.

He further highlighted the strides made by the past NDC administration in providing essential services.

This includes the construction of the Municipal Fire Service station at Anyaa, the Anyaa Polyclinic, which provides vital health and safety services, and the Community-based Health and Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Olebu, which he promised would be operationalized by the next NDC government.

The Anyaa Bus Terminal, once operational, is expected to create numerous employment opportunities and reduce road congestion.

Finally, Mr. Apetorgbor pointed out that governance and public service were strengthened through the creation of the new Ga Central Municipal Assembly by the NDC government.
