Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has committed to setting up a Commission of Enquiry to investigate the alleged looting of state lands and to address the longstanding issue of expropriated Ga-Dangbe lands.

This promise was outlined in the NDC manifesto, which was launched on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Winneba, Central Region.

Mahama’s pledge comes in response to growing concerns and accusations that the Akufo-Addo administration and its appointees have misappropriated state lands, with some parcels allegedly being sold to cronies. These claims have been strongly denied by the government and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.

However, Mahama insists that if elected in the December 7 polls, his administration will thoroughly investigate these allegations to determine whether any state lands have been unlawfully acquired or sold.

The Commission of Enquiry, he promised, would be tasked with uncovering the truth and making recommendations to resolve these issues, particularly focusing on the Ga-Dangbe lands, which have been a source of contention for many years.

The NDC flagbearer emphasized that the integrity of public lands must be protected and that his government would ensure that any unlawful transactions are addressed.
