Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that most of the key developmental projects in the Ejura Sekyeredumase district were initiated during the administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking at a campaign rally in Ejura on the first day of his tour of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Mahama emphasized that the NDC administration was responsible for driving significant infrastructure and development projects in the area, contrasting it with the current government’s track record in the region.

“Every impressive project public property you see here was provided during NDC regime. Our brothers in the NPP don’t care about development, they keep money under their beds and when elections are due, they go for little of that money and share to us so they can buy our conscience and we vote for them,” Mr. Mahama said.

He added that the vote-buying ploy by his political opponents was not going to work this time around.

The NDC flag bearer urged voters not to be swayed by attempts by the ruling party politicians to influence them with money.

He told them the money being distributed was public funds, therefore, they should “take it and vote against them”.

Former President Mahama is set to be in Ashanti Region within the next six days as he aims to garner a significant amount of votes in the ruling NPP’s stronghold.
