A cross-section of residents in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital, on Friday said they would remember former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his sense of humor and elegance.

According to them, despite his rigidity and some shortcomings in his government, the hilarious side of the former President had left an indelible mark on the minds of many Ghanaians.

“This man will just make you laugh. The way he even cracks jokes when responding to allegations from his political opponents will make you laugh,” Kwasi Ansu, a teacher, stated.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani about what they liked and cherished most about the former President’s personality, Madam Esther Amankwaa, a trader, also said, “I will also remember Akufo-Addo for his elegance.”

“Let’s be truthful here. In fact, despite everything, the man is classy.

I always admire him for the way and manner he speaks the Queen’s English. I love his voice and composure too,” a university student, Cecilia Brobbey, indicated.

In her view, Nimat Mustapha, a journalist, said, “I like former President Akufo-Addo because it seems he does not care about what people say about him,” describing the former President as an “easygoing type.”
