The Oyarifa Branch Youth Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Boateng has accused the party’s Chief Scribe Asiedu Nketiah of hoarding nomination forms just to restrain other party members from contesting the sitting President in the Presidential candidate race.
A daring Branch executive officer of the party, who has announced his readiness to contest President Mahama says he was stunned when he was told at the constituency office yesterday that the nomination forms that was to be made available for prospective candidates was in short supply .
According to him, this was unthinkable and alleged a calculated attempt by Asiedu Nketiah to prevent some people from giving the President a good fight in the Presidential slot.
In an interaction with Fiifi Banson on Kasapa FM on Friday, the 45-year-old condemned the situation, saying it largely defeats the social democratic principles which the NDC identifies with.
George Boateng, who has hyped himself as the one who can redeem Ghana from economic slavery was at the Madina Constituency office to pick his nomination forms for the presidential candidate slot, but got himself disappointed because he was told the forms had run out.
Meanwhile, the Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has advised prospective candidates desirous of competing with President John Mahama at the NDC’s upcoming presidential primaries to do a self introspection before pursuing their dream.
“There is no discrimination and so if you think you have the quality, go and pick the nomination forms and go through the process but remember that ye must check thyself,” the deputy scribe told Fiifi Banson in an interview on Kasapa FM.
