NDC Communicator, Bernard Anim Piesie has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to address the bribery allegation against the Minister for Energy, Boakye Agyarko.
Mr. Anim Piesie noted that the bribery allegation is of interest to Ghana and so, just as the President impressed upon Ghanaians to be citizens and not spectators, in his inaugural speech; he expects him to equally speak on the bribery issue.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo', Anim Piesie further called for a rapturous applause for the Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga to have boldly revealed the bribery attempt.
According to him, it will take a patriot like Mahama Ayariga to make public alleged attempts by Hon. Boakye Agyarko to bribe the minority after his vetting before the Parliamentary Appointments Committee.
“The receiver of the money has come out to confirm that indeed I collected it. Who else should I believe?”
He gave credence to Mr. Ayariga's allegation, claiming "there's been a payment of money. They’ve put money in an envelope for someone, so there’s been payment of some sort. Someone has collected some money" and so there's the need for Ghanaians to know "the source of the money".
Anim Piesie, therefore, called for a thorough investigation by the Legislators to ascertain the truth of the matter, but would not have it without President Nana Akufo-Addo adding his voice to the issue.
