Even soldiers who are known for their bravery broke down in tears during the funeral rite of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama.
But to the surprise of many, widow, Barbara Mahama showed bravery in the midst of pain and read a sombre tribute to her husband in a composed manner to the admiration of many.
“I don’t regret many things, my love. You wanted us to enjoy life and be happy. We always joked about poverty being a disease since it restricts people. We had plans my king, many many plans!. But when I think about you, I only smile because you are more than a piece of flesh circulating on social media. You were full of life, energy and vigour so I choose to remember you in that sense,” Barbara wrote.
She also described her late husband as a hero, advisor, teacher and above all mentor.
Major Mahama was lynched by some residents of Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region on Monday, May 29. The initial report says he was mistaken for an armed robber.
Mahama was born on November 1, 1985. he left behind a wife and two children.
Barbara presented her husband to the world just as he was. The strength she showed to read that. A heartwrenching tribute. #RIPMahama
