Goldstar Air, a Ghanaian registered airline based in Accra will be meeting with the press, employees and yet to be trained cabin crew and other stakeholders to brief them on the state of affairs of the company.
The Chief Executive of the company, Mr Eric Bannerman who returned to the country few days ago from US has hinted that the company has made giant stride by securing a bumper deal with the Authorities of the Baltimore Washington International Airport which will enable the company´s aircrafts land free and park for a period of two years.
In addition, the Baltimore authorities have given Goldstar Air an office space together with other incentives.
According to the erudite aviation buff, these opportunities have come in handy and the CEO of Goldstar Air is extremely elated and grateful to the Director of Air Service Development and strategic Analysis at the Airport.
Mr Bannerman stress that massive investments, time and monies have gone into this pursuit for the past three years.
He intimated that the company’s pride and joy of creating jobs is not speech-making, taking into account that Goldstar Air has supported many projects in the country since its inception.
In a statement released and signed by the head of Public Relations Unit of Goldstar Air, John Ashong-Mettle, said the trip by the Chief Executive Officer of Goldstar Air, Mr. Eric Bannerman was beneficial taking into cognizance that he signed a pact where the company is earmarking a site in the Northern Region of Ghana precisely Tamale, to build a hangar for its aircrafts and other wide bodies aircrafts for servicing and repair works.
He further stated that the hangar which will become a certified repair station for all aircrafts will serve as the company’s training college and also create employment opportunities to the country and the entire sub-region and Africa as a whole.
Mr Ashong-Mettle pointed out that the company’s CEO, Eric Bannerman expresses sincere apologies to the waiting passengers for the stress and the long wait endured, adding that ¨we are at the verge of completing our certification in order for Ghanaians to enjoy the best regarding our packages ranging from the movies, dishes to the local languages and our free three checked in bags during our flights to the destinations earmarked.
He added that the company has settled on next month to begin interviewing the applicants who have put in applications for the post of cabin crew after which the qualified ones would be sent to the regulating body for their training.
