Head coach of Ghana's senior national women team the Black Queens, Yusif Basigi has denied claims that he is in talks with Ghanaian top tier side Medeama SC.

According to the former Hasaacas coach he is not desperate for a coaching role at club level as he is focused on preparing the Black Queens for the upcoming Aftica Women Nations Cup tournament to be played in Ghana.

Contrary to rumours that Mr Basigi was lobbying for the coaching role at Medeama SC, he insisted that he only visited the team’s home grounds to witness their match against Wa All Stars .

“There is no iota of truth in the reports. I only went there to watch a game between them (Medeama SC) and Wa All Stars. I was seated with Oduro Nyarko the general manager of Wa All Stars under the canopy while Moses Parker (President of Medeama SC) was seated inside”

“Moses Parker did not even see me and we did not even meet and that ended it” he noted.

On whether he is ready to take up the coaching job at any other club apart from Medeama, Mr. Basigi insisted he will be busy scouting players for the Black Queens ahead of the African Womens Nations Cup.

“If I engage myself seriously with any club I will not be able to see well to the Black Queens when the time comes for me to scout for players for the team because I will not be stable.

He however left room for consideration saying that he will be open to helping out any club as far as it does not conflict with his duties as substantive head coach of the Black Queens.

“I am not also saying that when such a situation arises I will completely turn my back on it. We will look at those conditions and if it fits into the program we will consider. Maybe I will just help out at my free time but if I seriously focus on clubs I will end up rushing and may not get things right".

Basigi, until recently was the head coach of Sekondi Hasaacas SC.
