YEN has learnt that controversial Ghanaian fetish priest, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, has called on the family of the late Captain Maxwell Adams Mahama to offer his condolences.

The late Captain Maxwell was lynched by residents on Denkyira-Obuasi on Monday, last week.

According to reports, the military officer was mistaken for an armed robber by the residents who saw him jogging early morning with his gun by his side.

One of the women who spotted him reportedly took the issue to the Assemblyman of the area, who organised the youth to beat Captain Mahama to his death.

However, subsequent reports have stated the Assemblyman connived with galamseyers in the area to kill Captain Mahama who was reportedly against illegal mining.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra over the weekend, the spokesperson of the family, Zakari Ahmed revealed that Kwaku Bonsam had called on the family to express condolences.

He was speaking on an earlier report that preacher, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah stated that the death of Captain Mahama was part of a spiritual punishment for the Mahama family.

Ahmed drew a sharp contrast between Owusu Bempah and Kwaku Bonsam, saying he is sure the fetish priest would “make heaven” before the pastor.

YEN earlier reported that Captain Mahama will be buried Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Military Cemetery.

Close to 50 suspects have been arrested in connection to the gruesome as member of the Ghana Armed Force have lamented the slow pace of the police investigations.
