NDC’s Flagbearer hopeful, Professor Joshua Alabi has expressed optimism of wining his party’s primaries despite former President John Dramani Mahama being widely tipped as the favorite after showing interest to contest the 2020 election.
In an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Joshua Alabi was emphatic that, he will be Ghana’s president for 8 years equivalent to two terms if he is given the nod by his party.
“I will win the primaries and will be Ghana’s president for 8 good years and so Ghanaians should watch out for me. I will make Ghana the Swiss of Africa when given the nod and I know I will win hands down,” he told host Mc-Jerry Osei Agyemang.
According to him, former president Mahama’s decision to join the flagbearship contest doesn’t ‘scare’ him in anyway.
“I’ve already factored him [Mahama] within my campaign strategy so I am not worried. I know surely that I will win the primaries. God is at the center of my campaign,” he said.
Outlining his vision for Ghana, he said he will transform the country into the financial hub of Africa.
Prof. Alabi is among the four NDC stalwarts who have declared their readiness to lead the party into the 2020 polls.
