NPP internal wrangling in Ashanti Region resolved

Bekwai (Ash), Jan. 26, GNA - The members of parliament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, have set up a committee to resolve internal wrangling in the party. Mrs Elizabeth Agyemang, Member of Parliament (MP) for Oforikrom, who made this known, said the committee had so far helped the party to elect new officers in 35 out of the 39 constituencies.

So far Asokwa, Kumawu, Bosome-Freho and Obuasi are the only constituencies yet to hold their respective delegates' congress to elect constituency executives.

Mrs Agyemang, who chairs the committee, told the Ghana News Agency at Asante-Bekwai that completion of the constituency elections would pave the way for the holding of the Regional Congress. She said the party could not afford to waste time on petty differences and squabbles.

The MP said there was a need for the NPP to forge a united front, work hard and to remain focused to win back

political power in Election 2012. Other members of the Committee are Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, MP for Manhyia, Mr Frank Agyin, Effiduase-

Asokore MP and Mr Benjamin Asonaba-Dapaah, former member of the Council of State.
