In less than 24-hours after rival kingmakers at Okwahu-Abene, in the Eastern Region installed a rival chief to Professor Agyeman Badu-Akosa, a renowned pathologist and former Director General of Ghana Health Service (GHS), the queen mother has also rejected him.

Nana Adowa Gyamfua II, who has oversight responsibility over who becomes the Okwahuhene, disclosed that she has not given her blessing to the installation of any chief, describing the latest one also as null and void.

“I have not installed any chief and I have not asked anyone to install a chief on my behalf. Those who went and installed him are doing so on their own accord because per our tradition and customs, they are not supposed to be the rightful persons to carry out such an exercise. As far as I am concerned, the stool still remains vacant because we have not installed any chief”, she disclosed to mynewsgh.com.

On Saturday morning, one Eugene Kwasi Asante Boadi and Investment Banker, was installed as the legitimate Okwahuhene under the stool name Daseebre Akmouah Agyepong II in the raging chieftaincy feud in the area.

But in reaction to the purported installation, the Queen mother said she does not even know the said individual wondering how he could ascend a throne without recourse to her authority.

Two factions are currently laying claim to the vacant stool with Professor Agyeman Badu-Akosa under the stool name Nana Mampong Agyei II on one side and the latest on the other.

But the queen mother insists both are imposters as she does not recognize their authority chiefs of the area.
