A 67-year-old woman has been stoned to death by the people of Tindongo in the Upper East region, after she was accused of being a witch.

Rainbow Radio’s Justice Anthony in an interview Kwame Tutu said the deceased was stoned by her own family after consulting a traditional priest who alleged that she was a witch.

According to him, the family first took Madam Yednboka Keena to the Pelungu Chief but the Chief allegedly told her accusers that she could not handle the matter since there wasn’t any law that allows for people to be stoned on basis that they are witches.

The incident happened Monday, May 29, 2017, the same Captain Maxwell Mahama was murdered by the people of Denkyira West in the Central region.

The police has since launched an investigation into the matter, he added.

‘’She was stoned to death by own family who accused her of killing her grandchild. They claim she used her witchcraft to kill the grandchild and so after consulting a traditional priest who alleged that the woman was a witch, they stoned her to death.’’
