Accra, Feb. 25, GNA - President John Evans Atta Mills on Friday urged the international community to take advantage of the sound economic climate in Ghana to step up investment. He was speaking at the Osu Castle when he played host to a delegation from the International Federal Express (FEDEX). He said FEDEX had a solid reputation in courier service and reiterated Government's willingness to engage in partnerships that would be mutually beneficial.
The delegation was led by Mr Michael Ducker, President of FEDEX, and accompanied by Ghana's Communications Minister, Mr Haruna Iddrisu. President Mills said there were a number of possibilities in the courie= r service in Ghana and added that with the level of service of FEDEX, Ghanaians would be able to derive benefit from the corporate entity. Mr Ducker said his company was in Ghana for its "love for the country", for commercial business and to expand its business in West Africa. He said FEDEX had 250,000 employees worldwide. Mr Iddrisu said Ghana was ready to be used by the courier companies as a hub to enter into West Africa. "We are ready and willing to open up for operations in the courier service," he added.
