NDC final rally: "God is going to speak on 7th Dec" - Mahama

The final rally of the NDC has just ended at the Accra International Trade Fair Centre with President Mahama making his final political statement for the season.

President John Dramani Mahama: Thanked the Greater Accra region for the rally. Dedicates the campaign and the victory ahead to the late President Mills. Says Ghanaians have absorbed the message of the NDC and will give the party another term. President Mahama called for vigilance ahead of the election. "We are confident that if this election is peaceful and everything is done according to plan, i am confident that the NDC will win this election come December 7."
 
He said the government has done its part by providing all the necessary resources for the EC and the security services. Unless there are some evil forces that are planning to unleash evil on this country.
 
He said in order to have a basis for comparison, the Mahama administration must also be given eight years. He said due to the work the NDC has done in four years , their opponents are hoping they don't get another four years but the NPP is not God. He said the NDC's education programme is solid and the track record is strong. 
 
He said the NPP increased SHS to four years and did not provide a single classroom block for the students. He said the NPP is trying to pull him into the Free SHS debate but it will not wash. He insisted that progressively making SHS free is the best.
 
"Ghana must not adopt the free SHS on the desperate political promise of a politician who wants to be elected as president," the President said.
 
NDC has a solid programme that goes beyond education and encompasses tourism, jobs, energy and so on.
 
He said God's will will be done on December 7. "I will be the needle that will sow the cloth of Ghana together and above all we will make sure that Ghana continues to be peaceful and stable."
 
Vice President Amissah-Arthur: Says residents of the Central Region say they are solidly behind the president. 
 
Dr. Cadman Mills: The election is about Mills' legacy. President Mills said he was well pleased with the Vice President. President Mahama is a listener, an integrator. Urges NDC supporters not to respond to provocation.
 
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo: He says the NDC has developed many areas in the country and that no region has been left behind in the sharing of the national cake. He called for massive votes for the NDC.
 
Shirley Aryeetey Minister for Env't Science and Tech: She says the NDC supporters should come out in their numbers to vote. She says nobody should be scared on the day of the election because the police and other security officials will protect life and property.
 
NDC Chairman Dr. Kwabena Adjei: Calls for vigilance on the day of the election. He said there are plots to cause blackouts and blame it on the government but stated that it will not be countenanced.
 
General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia: He assured that nobody is going recruit machomen for the election
 
He has called on the GJA to check media houses who are doing the bidding of the opposition by destroying the hard won reputation of the NDC
 
He said the NPP is planning to cause mayhem but they will not retaliate when they are attacked because they want peace.
 
Says they have taken snapshots of the elections already and there is every indication that the party has already won
 
He said the opposition NPP is only crying wold because they know they have already lost.
 
He said he did not want to speak because the party is marking the 100 days of the burial of the late president Mills.
