Stop Fighting Over Toilets; NDC Groups Told

The Police in Tamale have appealed to the two pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) feuding groups to stop fighting over the Victory Cinema Toilet facility.

It has therefore urged them to apply to the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and wait for due process of Tender.

Chief Inspector Stephen Abanga of the Tamale Metropolitan Police gave the advice during a joint meeting of executives of ‘Gbomo Palace’, ‘Club 69’ and the current operator of the victory Cinema Toilet - Yahaya Kalimona.

The meeting was necessitated by violent exchanges yesterday morning involving the ‘Gbomo Palace’ and ‘Club 69’ over the control of the toilet facility which is believed to be the second highest income earner after the Tamale Central Market Toilet facility.

Organizer of ‘Club 69’ Safianu Taminu told XYZ NEWS the two groups have decided to resolve the impasse. He explained that the groups in the past agreed that the toilet facility was supposed to be managed in turns.

“We are supposed to be managing it group by group… that is how we concluded with our assemblyman. So therefore if your time is due, the next group is supposed to take over,” Mr. Taminu said.

He said the revenue goes back to the assembly and does not end up in the pockets of the managers as many people purport.
