Seven arrested in attempted murder accusation

The Tongu Police Command is investigating a case of attempted murder leveled against a prominent Doctor at Tefle Kodzi in the Volta Region.

Dr. Robert Dunson who has been operating a health assistance facility in the area was assaulted on Christmas Eve by a group of young men who say he acted suspiciously.

The group accused the medical Doctor of attacking a youngman in the night and attempting to shoot his apparent victim’s rescuers.

Tefle was recently in the news for mysterious serial murders which prompted former President Rawlings to make a passionate public appeal to President Mahama to deal with the situation.

Assemblyman for the area Benjamin Amekudzi in an interview with XYZ News said the group’s suspicions got roused as a result of the type and colour of regalia Dr Dunson wore in the town that night.

Dr Dunson is currently in Accra receiving treatment.

The Tongu Divisional Police Commander says it is investigating the issue.

Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Kofi Amevienku all eleven people who attacked the medical Doctor have been arrested and granted bail.
