We believe justice is a prerequisite for peace, and though we would have wished for a different outcome, it was not in vain. We succeeded in laying bare the loopholes through which elections can be stolen. We hope all those holes are plugged before the next election.
Afari-Gyan will not be acceptable to us going forward. The mad rush to create 45 new constituencies with the byline that whoever opposed it was against the bringing of district capitals and its attendant infrastructures to the people were all choreographed with NDC to hoodwink the people to vote for the NDC. That Opaninbonee must go. The Supreme Court also erred in allowing the NDC as a party to join the respondents. What that did was to crowd out the petitioners. In the end both the president and the NDC brought in only one witness, Asiedu Nketia. So what the blistering did they make way for Tsatsu Tsikata to form a tag team to crowd out the petitioners? When that happened, I instinctively knew the judges could not be relied upon to enforce the law, as the constitution made it clear who and who could be enjoined in an election petition. Three years is long, but not long in the life of a country and a party, we shall regroup and strategize for 2016.
It is not like they are doing amazing things. This NDC government is just a bunch of underachievers who can do nothing except to retard the country even if we give them 100 years. What haven’t we seen from their performance before? Tweaakai!!!

Wasn't it the same judiciary that ruled Jake (the son of terrorist) Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey had a right to purchase his state residence? Wasn't it our infamous judiciary that made so many "judgement debt" rulings against the republic even when there was no contract? Wasn't it the same judiciary that flagrantly flouted international law and ruled that Ghana could detain an Argentinian naval vessel?
I jubilate, of course, that NPP is not going to be in government but I wanted a ruling that ordered a new election so that the winner would cleanly win. And there could have been a possibility of a 3rd party winning!

To say the least, it's a portrayal of the greed and selfishness of a few NPPians and their followers! That's not to say the election was without issues that raise eyebrows but which human endeavor can we boast of its perfection?
We must note that Ghana is never whole when "we Akans" tend to be egoistic! Just as our northern brothers and sisters need us, we also need them---big time! The so-called Danquah-Busia tradition needs to be re-examined! The "Matemeho" tradition has no room in the 21st century! So is the terrorist bombings of the nineteen sixties!! In this day and age, no individual can be fooled and be tolerant for ever! Revenge awaits every oppressor! Any politician who dare toys with the intelligence of the electorate would dearly pay for it one day!
I'm an independent and as a matter of fact, has no trust for any politician ---be it NPP or NDC! I would dare say however, that the conduct of the NPP leadership needs to be of a very grave concern for every Ghanaian! Akufo Addo and his Akim Mafia is fraught with bitterness from the get-go! As from last week when Prof Oquaye made his historical blunder, old political sores were opened. Every body got annoyed with the NPP and they lost a lot of public sympathy which because of the unprecedented levels of corruption and political ineptitude of the NDC govt, people inclined towards the NPP.
There was clear evidence of electoral malfeasance and incompetence to favour the NPP case and the judgment could have swung any ol' which way.
Could it have been that the judges also got infuriated with this magnus opus of the Oquaye blunder and seeing that they the judges were between a rock and a hard place, they just simply decided that the devil you know is better than that other old devil who is beginning to grow horns again.

3 years is just around the corner. Though I am not a judge and was not impressed with the Mahama performance so far i was well aware that Ghana does simply not have the money to go for another election and also changing a govt in power from 1 year to another will be very chaotic for the system.
Lets reorganize and come back for a good fight next year. However the NPP will still struggle if your types continue to attack non Akans daily here. Truth is the NDC keeps attracting Akans whiles the NPP continue to struggle to appeal to non Akans. This is what the NPP needs to work on in order to win elections clearly.
If you insist on attacking Non Akans what will you do to the likes of Bawumia, Jake Lamptey, Ayikoi Otoo, Nhyaho, and other Non Akans?

We succeeded in laying bare the loopholes through which elections can be stolen. We hope all those holes are plugged before the next election.
Afari-Gyan will not be acceptable to us going forward. The mad rush to create 45 new constituencies with the byline that whoever opposed it was against the bringing of district capitals and its attendant infrastructures to the people were all choreographed with NDC to hoodwink the people to vote for the NDC. That Opaninbonee must go. The Supreme Court also erred in allowing the NDC as a party to join the respondents. What that did was to crowd out the petitioners. In the end both the president and the NDC brought in only one witness, Asiedu Nketia. So what the blistering did they make way for Tsatsu Tsikata to form a tag team to crowd out the petitioners? When that happened, I instinctively knew the judges could not be relied upon to enforce the law, as the constitution made it clear who and who could be enjoined in an election petition. Three years is long, but not long in the life of a country and a party, we shall regroup and strategize for 2016. It is not like they are doing amazing things. This NDC government is just a bunch of underachievers who can do nothing except to retard the country even if we give them 100 years. What haven’t we seen from their performance before? Tweaakai!!!

Yes! That is the spirit! Ghana wins! I have always maintained that the NPP petition was void ab initio. It was a waste of time and resources. It is a pity that such a frivolous and extremely vexatious case almost plunged the nation into confusion.
The NPP needs to lick their wounds and begin to find out why they lost. It has to be clear to them that they lost not because they were cheated. Perhaps, they need to be less war-like. Bellicose statements like "all die be die" must have put voters off.
The insults of other ethnic groups need to stop. How do you call all Ewes "trokosi" and expect them to vote for you? How do you call people from the North as "cow rearers" and expect a massive vote? The NPP campaigned unwittingly against itself.
The "Free SHS" 419 also failed to trick Ghanaians. First of all, it was announced before much thought was even given to how much it was going to cost. Nana akufu-Addo was pathetic in his BBC HARDtalk interview, when he was asked a simple question:
"PRESENTER: So have you costed it? How much will it cost?'
NANA AKUFO-ADDO: The costing... the costing... is being... is being done. I mean very very soon we will be in the position.
PRESENTER: No, you must have costed it! You can't make a promise like that without costing it?
NANA AKUFO-ADDO: No, no, no, very, very soon we are going to be...
PRESENTER: How much?
NANA AKUFO-ADDO: Very, very soon, we are going to be... put it together. I prefer...
PRESENTER: You don't know how much?
NANA AKUFO-ADDO: I do know how much, understand, but...
PRESENTER: Oh, then tell me that?
NANA AKUFO-ADDO: I will prefer to tell the people of Ghana directly before I tell you."

NPP should regroup and put structures in place to contest the next election with point by point messages. NPP has a lot to learn and use it as a campaign message to remove this reckless and irresponsible government from power.

And that is good enough to offset the financial cost. In material terms, the financial cost may be burdensome but it is worthwhile for all the lessons we all obtained from the case.
We could all help the NPP erase the financial cost of the petition by contributing a little even of we are not members of the Party.

If the political parties are serious about national development, then they should at least be able to train their polling agents well enough to sniff out any irregularities and complain officially at the pollinng stations.I could tell from how pale Akufo-Addo was when he was entering the court premises that he was going to lose. Stop trying to come to power through the back door.

One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five gallon bucket to bring back some fruit.
As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. When he came closer, he realized it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end to shield themselves because they were naked.
One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!"
The middle man frowned and replied, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked." Holding the bucket up he said, "I'm here to feed the crocodile."

Kuffour's regime started to "force" everybody to speak Akan or Twi that is why this distance language is continuously being used in movies, TV adverts and the like. Democracy works well where minorities are respected and their cultures also respected, not the evil way to annihilate them, as being demanded by that NPP man through his FM station. They can praise their leaders but jthey are nothing but regionalists and very arrogants to take the lead of our beautifull motherland. We have to thank the Almighty Jehovah for leading us through it all in such remarkable Peace, notwithstanding the few threats and Contempt citations.
We should also thank the NPP leadership for the courage to seek redress at the Court and not choose the deceptively easy but fatalistic route of violent brawny stampede to grab the Presidency.
Besides, we should all be proud of the efforts of NPP in helping us all gain greater insight into our Legal System, helping us to learn so much more about Law. Even though the NPP lost the case, it won for the whole Nation a lasting honor of a people who cherish Law and Order and deepened Democracy.
The NPP must not feel overly disappointed by the verdict but must move on with its chest out in historic Pride. The Party must immediately begin to review it's activities and modus operandi for expanding its membership to have a better shot at the next Elections.
Tarzan, Kennedy, Tamakloe, Pianim must all be calmly welcomed back into the fold of the NPP to allow a broader spectrum of opinions on issues at all times. When we admonish the Cat to refrain from pestering the Stork Fish, we should also do the same to the latter to control its effusive smell that entices the Cat. Therefore, the above stalwart members of the NPP must understand they ought to concede to the consensus of the Party, after a hectic debate for the best way to deal with issues.
I hope to see all factions within the Party seamlessly soldered back for a stronger Party. Ghana badly needs the NPP whether in Opposition or in Power. The Nation is better off with a stronger NPP.
At this point, we should all help the Party to dissolve any lumps of debt the Petition caused the Party.
To the NDC, I would humbly request that it does not get carried away to ignore the Opposition to misrule. The NDC must accept the challenge from the Opposition to prove it is worthy of our vote and can do better than the Opposition expects of them. That is a healthy competition.
It may just be too soon to assess how the losing side handles it all. But I am absolutely certain that the NPP, in general, would continue to hold up the Peaceful torch and work harder for the membership and the Nation.

The over 40 days of legal tussle in the highest court of the land have exposed many weakness in our electoral system and taken our democratic discourse through worthy flame of refinery.
Congrats Ghanaman! Congrats my lovely compatriots for sharing your thoughts even though some strayed. A learning process that was in our political history.

A Mahama's spirit and Ghost, the ghost of the elders of Bunsunu, Sonyo Kipo, Lansa and all the gods a of Gonjaland came out to prevent shame on Gonjaland and its illustrious son, and the Supreme Court had no choice but to fall in line.
Besides these wonders which no one can explain, there is a big saying in Gonjaland that, it is obvious that when you kill a snake you cannot expect it not to wiggle. Akufo Addo was beaten at the polls and it is natural that he will wiggle to the Supreme Court. Akufo Addo has finally been put to rest and no more wiggling; he is dead, he is gone and he is defeated two times. Any questions?
Now is the time to govern and rule and deliver and make the vision of John Mahama a reality and move Ghana toward prosperity, if John really has a vision. Yes, there is no doubt in my mind that John has a vision. There is no doubt in my mind that John's vision is our vision, the vision of all Ghanaians and a vision that we are called upon to support, to contribute to shape and project and implement.
Simply put, let me tell you folks! For centuries, the Northerner has been the pool of cheap labor for the development of Ghana. In fact, in 1903, when one of the Governors of the then Gold Coast traveled up North to Navrongo, when the North was still a protectorate, he visited the primary school in Navrongo. The Governor talked and interviewed the pupils of the school and has exhaustive conversations with the pupils. At the conclusion of the visit, the Governor was amazed at how those pupils in class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, in Navrongo articulated the English language, expressed and understood complex and abstract thoughts and showed advance knowledge in critical thinking. Folks, listen carefully. The Gold Coast governor came to a very surprising conclusion from listening to these gifted pupils and said, “Education in Northern Protectorate should halt at primary Six”. He said “this sector of the British protectorate was a reservoir of cheap labor to feed the cocoa industry and the mining enterprises down South”. General Spears had opened up the Obuasi Mines and was 100% owned by General Spears of UK for Britain.
Folk, that ended the advancement of Education for Northerners for a long time. The rest of the years until independence in 1957, Northern reserve labor was carted to the South to work as laborers and “Cocoa Caregivers” in the Cocoa industry, laborers in the mines to gig and purify gold and all the minerals, latrine carriers, fufu pounders, Kajetia sweepers, janitors and sanitary workers in the country, baby sitters and nannies all over, unskilled construction laborers on the housing and building of bridges and the rails to carry away Ghana's loot by the British. Northern illiterate labor were the non- commissioned officers in the police and army, and all the work that required physical labor and structural control of the minds and bodies, were done by Northerners to build the Gold Coast and Ghana.
Folks, that paved the way for the imbalance in development, the attitude that our fellow Southerners developed toward Northerners; a legacy which we cannot lift off our shoulders till to date.
Northern Ghana never benefited from the Cocoa exports that we produced, nor did we have any share in the Gold. We never had any roads, or any good drinking water worthy of our labor, and we never were mentioned as part of the fabric of the Ghanaian body of Politics; and more important we still don’t have any of these today.
That gave rise to development of the Northern Peoples Party later on, when some liberalization in Education was permitted. The Late Hon. Bawumia, Dombo, the Yidanas of the Asigri family,, the E. A. Mahamas, and the few specially lucky Northerners who got education beyond the class six, went to Achimota Training college (in fact, the late Hon. Bawumia was one time the Senior Prefect of Achimota College, when it was a Teachers training College) and other institutions for Local Government and University and so on.
This era of drowning and denying Northerners basic education was vigorously attacked by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He built the GET secondary schools giving rise to Ghana College in Tamale Navrongo Secondary School, Bawku Secondary, Bolga Women’s training College, to mention a few. He advanced primary, middle and secondary school education and provided free education to all Ghanaians, through University.
Note this, Kwame Nkrumah also provided generous sponsorship for Northern students in the Universities and helped to speed up and motivate Northern students to go further than just middle school and secondary school. We all, including me, are beneficiaries of Kwame Nkrumah's "Tudu" funds for support in the Universities.
Folks, why am I lamenting over these historical injustices or in some cases remedies in the past? Because folks, we have suffered in the past, labored for nothing and brought in needed foreign exchange, we have built rails roads and constructed bridges for the rest of the country and have none in our own areas, and we have built schools and provided manual labor everywhere, carried the latrines’ wastes and cleaned latrines and sweated and labored over every piece of development project for Ghana for too long. Today, our labor has produced a genuine President on his own merit. John Dramani Mahama did not have to be anointed by Imoru Egala or some big wig in the CPP or NDC; John rose through the ranks to achieve and earn his position; including the Supreme Court.
John is a symbol of the changing times and a force we all need to get behind to change the balance of power, balance of opportunities and balance in development.
It is time to rule, and it's time to put forth ideas to rule. Daboya River is still not bridged and that sector of Gonjaland is cut off from the nearest center of civilization. SADA has been arrogantly ignoring Gonjaland, and there is not a single indicator in any place in Gonjaland of the initiatives of SADA, except in Yapei area where it as a Mongo plantation and some plantation to produce squash for Eastern Europe. SADA has imported over 475 tractors into Northern Ghana, just from my own count, and yet there is less than five tractors distributed to anybody or any organization in Gonjaland. SADA's Board is full of Kanbongas and other Northern personnel, and there is only one Gonjaland man, Dr. Jebuni, on the Board or as a Consultant, even though Gonjaland occupies the biggest expanse of land in the North, if not in all Ghana. In fact, with just Dr. Jebuni alone in SADA as consultant, people have not stopped to get rid of the only other Gonjaland person in SADA; with stupid accusations that he is NPP informant.
Daaaaaaah!!!!! Remember, Dr. Jebuni is one of the chief architects of SADA, collaborated with others to write the SADA program and contributed not only his intellectual powers, but his very rich economic knowledge and background as an Economist, one of the greatest Economist Ghana has known in a long time. I bow and give Dr. Jebuni all my respect and thank him for all his good works. He made me proud in the intellectual circles and his publications, in collaboration with others like Dr. Ramatu M. Al-Hassan of KNUST, have thrown and shown light on Northern economic needs, especially in the agricultural sector.
SADA has an enormous forestation program or says so, yet when I went to Ghana I saw only about five acres of forestation program in the western corner of the Bole district toward Ivory Coast; the rest, ACCORDING TO THE CEO, GILBERT IDDI, WERE BURNED DOWN BY WILD FIRES. SADA is famous for guinea fowl projects, and according to what I know and grew up with, Gonjaland was the area or “mother area, endowed with guinea fowls since the beginning of time. Yet folks, there is not a single guinea fowl project in Gonjaland. What is SADA therefore doing for Gonjaland? All SADA is doing for Gonjaland is to have a SADA CEO in the person of Gilbert Iddi, whose concentration IS ON DAGOMBAS, DAGOMBA LAND, and all other Northern lands and areas but Gonjaland.
Folks, the final scores have been settled. John is our President. Iddi is the CEO of SADA. I am attaching the strategic planning concepts of SAAD to this piece for all of you to read and make up your minds. This attached plan should be read carefully and evaluated against the projects and actual on the ground and practical operations of SADA for an “INFOMED DECISION AND EVALUATION OF SADA performance in Northern Ghana and Gonjaland”.
Is SADA another piece of garbage promulgated to enrich a few Northern people or to rain in serious development into Northern Ghana? Is SADA promulgated to exclude Gonjaland totally and ignore the vast potentials in Agriculture, mining, irrigation, manufacturing, fisheries, water transportations and all kinds of cement and coal and the development of other natural resources that we have in Gonjaland? No, NO, NO, NO!!!
Gonjalanders did not come out in droves to vote for John during the elections only to be relegated to the back of the bus. Gonjalanders did not campaign and suffer all kinds of insults for John only to be ignored by the John regime. Gonjalanders cannot be proud of Gilbert Iddi as the CEO of SADA only to be ignored and turned a blind eye to by Gilbert Iddi. Gonjaland deserves better and we are all watching; watching to make informed decisions in the 2016 elections.
Folks, John and NDC have been legitimized by the people and highest court of Ghana, and have over three more years to go in his first term. No more distractions by any court case. No more if's and but's. We demand attention in Gonjaland, even if PEOPLE WILL TALK.
Right now no one is talking, because nothing is being done in Gonjaland. We want people to talk about the enormous contributions of Gonjaland, the enormous developments in Gonjaland, the wonderful bridge over the Daboya river, the irrigation projects in Gonjaland, the many SADA tractors in Gonjaland and many roads and many water supply and dam building projects in Gonjaland, because John Dramani Mahama is President. Yes, we want people to talk and say that because John Dramani Mahama is President, 200 or three hundred Gonjaland personnel are in high and responsible positions in Government, 1000's have gotten SADA assistance, 1000s of Gonjalanders have been elevated out of Poverty, and the Dakurpe mines and Galamze in Gonjaland have been returned into prosperous and well organized industries in Gonjaland. Yes, we want people to talk and say that Gonjaland got all these because John Dramani Mahama is now President of Ghana. Yes, we want people to talk and say Gonjalanders are now so proud, well educated, prosperous and talking big because John Dramani Mahama is President. Yes, we want all of Ghana and the world to notice that John Dramani Mahama has concentrated on Gonjaland development because he is a Gonjalander, more than any other President of Ghana. Yes, let's have people singing praises to John Dramani Mahama for his glorious journey to uplift Gonjaland and make Gonjaland a shining city on the hills, and make Gonjalanders proud and as innovative and as prosperous and increasingly a major force in Ghanaian body politics.
In Ghana today, especially in the North, Kufuor is still as popular as if he is still the President of Ghana. The reasons for this popularity are legion. There is the Tamale sports Statius, the size and beauty and elegance of which no one has ever seen in Ghana or the North for that matter. That is a monument to the testimony of Kufuor. There are the Kufuor Buses, which ply Accra to Tamale, to Wa, to Bolga and now it is breeze to comfortably get a ride straight from Accra to Bole or Tamale or Wa or Bolga. Those are also monuments to the testimony of Kufuor. There are the dual carriage roads crisscrossing and opening up Tamale and making Tamale unrecognizable beautifully to many, constructed by Kufuor; and folks those are also monuments to the testimony of Kuffour’s legacy. Yes, they are!!!
Nkpana, what will be or are John Dramani Mahama’s monuments as testimony to his Legacy? However, right from the first seconds of that petition judgement should have been made. This people will never ever accept the ruling, so why waited until this time. The election was the most cleanest in the modern day Ghana, but yet they accepted this to drug on and on. I am sure is because of good examples from Zimbabwe, Malaysia, Venezuela and Kenya made the judges to announce the result quite earlier. It was not Ghana who win. It was the NDC NDC NDC who won. The Judges has placed Ghana democracy on a dangerous path because Ghana laws depends on judiciary precedence so in effect,no one can challenge a presidential election ever in Ghana and win because any future petition against an elected president would be judged using this ruling as a guide. This leaves opposition leaders only one sure option, if you can't get justice at the courts, you can obtain quick justice by picking up guns and grenades to fight and make people refuges. a sad day for Ghana.The future of Ghana is bleak.
