I will demonstrate against Kevin’s return - Kofi Manu

Aduana Stars Chief Executive Officer Kofi Manu has vowed to demonstrate against the return of Kevin-Prince Boateng into the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

The Black Stars are on the verge of securing a third successive bid at the World Cup after spanking Egypt 6-1 in a first leg qualifier on Tuesday at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.

Boateng was absent after claiming he was injured and that decision have not gone down well with a number of Ghanaians including the controversial football administrator.

With news that he could play for his German side Schalke 04 this weekend, just days after missing the qualifier against Egypt, Kofi Manu is kicking against any move to call-up the player if the Black Stars qualify to Brazil.

“If Coach Kwasi Appiah invites Kevin-Prince Boateng I will stage one month demonstration in this country with others who will disagree with his invitation,” an angry Manu told Kumasi-based Sikka FM.

“Before Ghana went to the World Cup for the first time in 2006 some of us almost went to prison when we wanted the FA to be independent to be able to take decisions on its own to help develop football in the country.

“That was the extent we went. What we have put in to get Ghana football to these level not even ministers of State or politicians can break us down.

“Least of all a mere player who chooses when and where to play and at what time he wants to play. I will not sit down for this to happen.”
