The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nadwoli constituency Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has stated that it is highly impossible for the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to fight the corruption menace in the country.

According to him, the President’s pledge during and after the 2016 elections cannot be fulfilled.

The President has pledged to fight corruption, the recent was when he attended CEO’s summit in Accra on May 22, 2017.

But speaking in a media interview on Thursday June 8, 2017, Mr. Bagbin said though the President is his friend, he ‘can’t stamp out corruption’.

“I listened to Nana. He says that he is going to contain corruption. He fought three wars all funded by people. He thinks all the people are Father Christmas? It is not possible, this is not possible…He is my friend. We’ve been together for many years and he is a senior to me in both age and in profession and politics and everything, but I know a bit of him, it’s not possible; it’s just the usual mantra. Until we do what I’m saying, you can’t stamp out corruption,’ the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament expressed pessimism.
