Kufuor Declared WINNER

Kufuor 01.2003

The Electoral Commission, has declared President John Agyakum Kufuor the winner of the presidential elections held on Tuesday, December 7, 2004. The Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Kwadjo Afari Djan made the declaration at a press conference which ended a short while ago. He said even if all the results from the five remaining constituencies are given to President Kufuor's nearest rival, the NDC's Prof. John Atta Mills, Mr. Kufuor will still have more votes to maintain his lead. So with results from five constituencies left to be declared here is a breakdown of the votes polled so far -

Edward Mahama - 1.9%

John Kufuor - 52.7%

John Atta Mills - 44.3%

George Aggudey - 1%
