Accra, Jan. 8, GNA - Former President Jerry John Rawlings leaves Accra on Saturday to attend a signing ceremony of a Comprehensive Agreement on the Sudan Peace process on Sunday January 9, 2005. A statement signed by Mr Victor Smith, Special Aide to the Former President said Mr Rawlings accepted the invitation from President Mwai Kibaki of Kenya.
It said the ceremony followed the successful conclusion of the negotiations between the Government of Sudan and the Peoples Liberations Movement/Army (SPLM/A) in Naivasha, Kenya on December 31 2004. Mr. Rawlings, accompanied by his Special Aide would be away for four days.

FORMER PRESIDENT TRAVELS TO NAIROBI FOR SUDAN PEACE AGREEMENT
Former President J J Rawlings has accepted an invitation from President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Mwai Kibaki to attend the Grand Signing Ceremony of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement on the Sudan Peace Process, to be held in Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday, 9th January, 2005.
The Ceremony follows the successful conclusion of the negotiations between the Government of the Sudan and the Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A) in Naivasha, Kenya, on 31st December, 2004.
President Rawlings will leave Accra on Saturday January 8 . He will be accompanied by his Special Aide Victor Smith and will be away for 4 days.
