“Denkyem” brings hope to the youth through sports

Denkyem Charitable Foundation inc, a nongovernmental organization has taken the Tema metropolis in Ghana by storm through the support it has been giving to the youth , as well as both government and privately owned primary and preparatory schools in the area.
The organization is using sports to create a safe haven and a strong sense of belonging, participation and self-expression leading to patriotism in the youth as well as building confidence and innovation
Though Denkyem is noted for soccer, it is also supporting the kids in the area of athletics, netball, boxing etc, which has been evident in the performance of schools such as the community two (2) number four primary school, which excelled in their annual athletics meet earlier this year, where they easily won almost all their events and topped their zone.
Denkyem supported the school in the provision of coaches, kits, snacks and water for the school, boosting the morale of the kids, hence their wonderful performance.
Other schools like New age educational centre also in community two (2), also have not been left out, and the Denkyem train is about to reach all the schools in Tema and beyond.
The organization is also feverishly preparing to organize a soccer tournament in the Tema metropolis, as has always been the tradition during festive seasons, eg. The upcoming Easter celebrations.
The tournament tagged “RESSURECTION CUP” will have about six teams spread across the Tema township participating.
Very attractive prices like football boots, jerseys will be given to deserving players who put up very good performances, and food and drink will also be to the children who will participate.
The age category of under twelve (12) and under fourteen (14), with the aim of unearthing future talents.
A knockout competition took place in February at the Sakakasaka Park, community two (2), and had Teams from Tema New town, community two comprising of BBC, Italian Flats, J county, and community five (5) taking part in the event.
The knockout championship was won by BBC in the under 14 tournament, and j county in the under 12 segment.
The organization is supported by King Global Ventures, Flamboyant Damsel ltd (Tema), Aqua Fortis mineral water (Tema), Basta Sports, OZE sports Tarvens, Managerial Government Resources (MGR) a lobbying firm, all based in the United States of America
Denkyem has really come to stay and all other towns throughout the country should be warming up to have their turn.
