The Public Relations Officer of Berekum Chelsea, Isaac Obeng, has disclosed that their head coach, Samuel Boadu, has promised his players a special bonus if they defeat his former team, Hearts of Oak, in a Ghana Premier League clash on Wednesday.

The upcoming match at Golden City Park between the Berekum Blues and the Phobians is drawing significant attention.

Boadu, who was dismissed by Hearts of Oak two seasons ago following a lacklustre start to their campaign, is eager to exact revenge against his former employers.

Obeng revealed that Boadu has personally assured Berekum Chelsea players of a special bonus should they triumph in the encounter. This promise adds an extra layer of motivation for the team as they prepare to face the formidable Hearts of Oak.

"It's a revenge game for Samuel Boadu against Hearts of Oak on Wednesday. He has personally promised the guys (Berekum Chelsea players) that if they win, he has a special bonus for them," Obeng stated during an interview with Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

Boadu's tenure with the Phobians was marked by both on-field success and managerial accolades.

Under his leadership, Hearts of Oak won an impressive five trophies in less than two years, including the coveted Ghana Premier League title in the 2020/2021 season, back-to-back FA Cup victories, as well as triumphs in the Ghana Super Cup and the President’s Cup.
