Jacqueline makes waves in walking

Jacqueline Aku Bludo of the Ghana Police Service won the women?s 20k walk with a time of 1:58.37 over the weekend at Cape Coast. There was a stiff opposition from Olivia Asamoah, Godslove Andrews, Ruth Mensah all of the Ashanti and a host of others.

In the 20k men event Ahmed Tijani Sanni of the Ghana Armed Forces (Navy) came first with 1:34.06. Whiles Atta Bright of Kumasi came second with a time of 1:35.28.Francis Kwame Adarkwah of Cape Coast took the third position in 1:44.12.In the 50k men, Kofi Ali beat Vincent Asumang to the second place with a time of 4:43.39.Whiles the latter finished with a time of 4:50.09.Michael Boateng came third with a time of 4:51.30.

A welfare officer of the Visco walking club Miss Mary Brew addressed the walkers after the competition. She told the walkers of the fact that she is aware of some of their concerns and that the club is doing all it can to address them in due course. She also congratulated them all for the outstanding performance they put up.
