Tema Sports Supporters Union formed

Accra, March 25, GNA - A new supporters group, the Tema Sports Supporters Union (TEMSSU) has been formed at Tema in the Greater Accra Region.

The Tema-based supporters group, according to the founders was to galvanize support for all sporting activities in the community, Premier League side - Tema Youth and for other sporting activities at the national level. Mr Einstein Christian, President of TEMSSU who spoke at the inauguration of the Union said the body has put in place plans to provide adequate support for all relegated clubs in the Metropolis in a bid to ensure their return to the premiership. He added that the outfit is also poised to provide special support for some of the lesser known sports in the country as their contribution towards national development.

Mr Christian said the union will also organize educational activities for its supporters as part of their efforts to curb crowd violence and unnecessary tension during sporting activities and called on all individuals and organizations to support their quest for success. The union with an initial membership of 30 has nine executive members with Mr Christian as the Chairman. The rest of the officers are Kenneth Cudjoe, Vice President - Emmanuel Ashitey - Public Relations Officer (PRO), Micheal Oppong - Secretary / Treasurer, with Kwaku Edward, Richard Boadzo, David Cudjoe, Francis Semenyo and Francis Obeng as organisers.
