Injury KO for Otto Addo

The fear that Otto Addo has torn a crucial ligament looks set to be confirmed – and the striker will travel to America for treatment this week.

Dortmund suffered their first injury setback of the 2001-02 campaign after Addo complained of a knee injury after the League Cup match against Freiburg. The player had an MRI scan at the weekend, which seems to show he has ruptured a crucial ligament.

The Ghanaian international will travel to Vale in Colorado this week to see Dr Richard Steadman, who will examine the knee more closely. If the suspicion is confirmed, the 26-year-old will undergo surgery immediately.

Steadman is rated as an expert and in the past has treated stars like Oliver Kahn and Lothar Matth?us.
