Edubiase share derby spoils with AshantiGold

It was honours even at the Gyamfi Park as the Adansi derby in the Glo Premier League between New Edubiase and AshantiGold ended 1-1 on Saturday.

The draw did not really make much of a difference on the league standings with the bulk of the matches scheduled for Sunday but for the Miners, a point off their rivals away is a good result.

AshantiGold drew first blood in the 36th minute through leading striker, Mohammed Yakubu to end the first half a goal in front.

The goal was Yakubu's fifth of the season.

But the home side returned from the break determined to pull level and 18 minutes into the second half, substitute Stephen Manu equalised for Edubiase.

The derby produced eight yellow cards with the visitors, AshantiGold getting booked five times by referee Reginald Lathbridge.
