Badu dedicates award to colleagues

Black Stars' sensational midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has credited his colleague's effort after picking his second award in two games at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Badu, who earned Ghana a penalty to wrap up victory in the Stars lone win over Mali was adjudged Man of the Match following a superlative showing that made him the best box-to-box player on the day.

The midfielder, making a third appearance at the plum competition that pits Africa's best 16 team together told GNA Sports after the match that "I dedicate this award to my team mates. What we did was a team effort and not mine alone.

"I just want to keep doing my best for my nation and I am very happy. We are ready for the next game against Niger. We will go there and fight and see what that brings. We want to go all the way in the competition."

Badu walked into the record books as the first scorer of the tourney following his goal against the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Group B opener which ended two-all.

The player picked the Fair Play Award in the game against the Leopard and is expected to play a crucial part in the last Goup game billed against Niger next Monday.
