Danish Club Signs Kwadwo Poku

Danish Superleague side FC Midtjylland have beaten off competition from German and Portuguese clubs to sign 19-year-old Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Poku on a five-year contract.

Poku, who joins Midtjylland from Ghanaian club King Faisal, recently made his senior international debut and has also been picked for his country's Olympic squad. "He is a player I have been following for six months now through my contacts in Ghana," said Midtjylland sporting director Jens ?rgaard. "He is an extremely big talent, whom Midtjylland will benefit a lot from, and also make money on, in the future."

Zidan replacement

Poku, who has been voted Africa's best Under-23 player, is intended as a replacement for Egyptian Mohamed Zidan, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. Zidan's last appearance for Midtjylland could therefore be the weekend trip to Aalborg BK.
