Nigerian artistes didn't feature Ghanaians to gain fame and airplay in GH. They just made authentic naija music from the soul. Most of their songs are in their languages; these are languages Ghanaians do not even understand yet love to sing along like nobody's business.
So how come Nigerian songs are so popular here? Because they are west African original. You may not decipher the lyrics but the melody and the authenticity of the vocals will captivate you.
Think about it, how many of the naija songs are in English?
Ghanaians on the other hand want to be the next Mary j blije and and the next young money click! You cant! Embrace your culture, your accent and your native rhythms and others will embrace you too. Don't even get me started on the abhorrent so called dancehall crap.....you have a culture and your own genre.........perform that instead of trying to copy Jamaican culture.
So as far as featuring Nigerians,
It does nothing but
1. Increase the fan base of the Nigerian artiste in Ghana for damn near free.
2. Puts money in their pockets
3. DOES NOT make Ghanaian musicians more popular in Nigeria...remember, Nigerian music gained popularity in gh on its own. It didn't take features with gh artistes to gain that...
So just be yourself. Azonto was the biggest gh craze to go worldwide yet Ghanaians generally look down on it
Love yourselves Ghanaians!

I agree with most of what you are saying but you have to realise that Ghanaian and Nigerians have been in a long time relationship, or like love hate relationship like husband and wife. Nigerians have been living here in ghana for years and so arw Ghanaians in Nigerian, hence we both have a lot in common.
Have you ever noticed that there are few nigerians words in being spoken by us? Words like lai lai by gas, gari , Alaba , kaun and lately Ghanaians using baba GOD you are too much every where.
What I'm trying to say is that it's easy for us to like thier music because we can already understand some of thier words through years of interactions and I believe that in the case of 4x4 they are doing the right thing as it will give them more exposure and they will probably make more money by expanding their audience in Nigerian and Africa as a whole.
If we can't beat them we might as well join them. No shame in that. Remember also that our mentality in so many ways are different than nigerians. Nigerians don't really envy , we do and that's why they progress easily despite so much hate toward them.
Do you honestly think as Ghanaians we like helping each other? Hmmmmm

One thing you guyz don't get is real Ghanaians like myself enjoy listening to adadamu special from the likes of the great Nana Ampadu, the late Ampofo Adjei, Papa Yankson, Kojo Antwi (aka Mr. Music-man), Amakye Dede, end the list goes on. I personally care about the lyrics that will promote the well being of Ghana development and the impact it has on the Ghana society. I will be happy if Ghana musicians care about our society and focus on Ghana and forget about the so-called making name out of Ghana. Remember, "Ghana y3 mene wodea" and we need to engage in practices that will make Ghana a better place in generations to come. No wonder Obrafuor, the executioner will forever remain my favorite Ghana rap artist of all time. I remember when Obrafuor made the albums, Paemuka and Indiscipline. His songs had impact on the ordinary Ghanaian and the lyrics were about making our dear country a better place. Remember that it is not always about the money but also about how our land will keep its rich culture and enhance Ghana in a positive way. I will always choose our High-life music over any Hiplife music of today. Ghana should forget about our competition and fame with our Nigerian neighbors and it is about time we think Ghana. I love Ghana to the bone! God bless Mother-Ghana!!!
