So now where is the part that talks about tax on Ghanaians living abroad?. Now let the ignorants start shouting again. Instead of getting clarification when they cannot read or understand the laws they start shouting all in the name of politics. Those who were making noise on various social media platforms should bow their heads in shame.

They don't encourage policies that will create jobs for the people. When people venture out on their own to make ends meet, they will meet them at the ports and everywhere to jack them up. What a cruel government/country.

Madam..You can't even manage all the precious minerals mother nature has given this country but you are quick to deep your stinky hands on my work. Are going to give me Social security benefits when i pay you those Taxes from my earnings. Also Are you aware I pay taxes whenever I'm in Ghana and purchase anything. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. You don't even bother creating opportunity for the diaspora to come home to help build the nation. All you care is harassing us when we come to the place that is suppose to be our home.

For the sake of education we'll try and tackle the purpose of taxation and it's history pre and post colonization
The history of taxation of our colonial masters is very advanced in their motherland and when they decided to colonize Africa they intended to introduce some for of taxation to pay for the cost of administering the colony and history reveals that all attempts by them to introduce any form of taxation was resisted by the natives but with time some form of success was chalked, then came independence and Dr Nkrumah.
Am not conversant with the Ghana Tax code but with judgement is that it's not doing so well and has failed to rake in the tax funds needed for a civilized living

The GRA laws must be changed, in order to bring fairness to Ghanaians, esp those living abroad. It's unjust to tax people who have acquired income or wealth abroad and wishes to return to Ghana on retirement.

GRA, when are you going to expand the tax base by bringing the informal sector into the income tax bracket? Do the heavy lifting and introduce property taxes ASAP.

Nothing new. Governments around the world are drowning in debt, so new taxation schemes are not new. What would be interesting would be the implementation of collecting these taxes. Will they cause the banks to issue a tax receipt at the end of the year for citizens to fill? Because so far, that would be the only way to track foreign income entering into Ghana.
