Thanks for your observation that the ultimate cause of Ghana's economic woes is fiscal mismanagement - in fact, fiscal indiscipline. Bravo! The government must accept this fundamental fact and make amends.

You have identified the run on the cedi as a cause of increasing inflation in our economy.
What is not clear is the cause of the fall in cedi exchange rates. The exchange rates depend on the relative strengths of our economy and the economies of our foreign trading partners. Our major trading partners are all emerging from the economic downturn of the past few years. At the same time, the prices of our major export commodities have fallen so we are earning less from our major exports. A combination of our weaker economy and the stronger economies of our major trading partners is reflected in the falling exchange rates of the cedi.
The article points to fiscal mismanagement in 2012 as a key factor in the run on the cedi. This ignores the role that the relative strengths of our economy and the economies of our major trading partners plays in exchange rates. I suggest that the latter is probably a more important factor.
