I am shocked by the minimal comments on this article. Of all the articles written today on the Ghanaweb.com, I will said this one is the most important. A true and real solutions to our energy crisis, not only in Ghana, but Africa.
I fully support it and invite all Ghanaians to pay attention to it and contribute to it.
I will add just the following:
1.Modern designs of our homes, offices and factories so that they use less or no electricity for illumination, ventilation and air-conditioning. These designs are available throughout the world.

There are many fields where Ghana lacks the needed expertise. To solve this problem the government of Ghana has over the decades made scholarships available for the needed human resource to be trained abroad. In some cases so many people were sent and not even one returned. If you know you are not prepared to work and live in Ghana and would therefore not return do not take the scholarships.
The Takoradi Poly Students who were sacked for applying with fake certificates must be prosecuted in a court of competent jurisdiction. Just sacking them is not enough.
Nowadays businesses and government organisations have stopped demanding Secondary School Certificate or Basic Education Certificate.
Each of these certificates are important. For example for many tertiary graduates the only certificate that can tell whether one can speak good English or whether one has adequate knowledge of Mathematics is the Secondary School Certificate.
Similarly the only certificate that can tell whether a tertiary graduate has basic knowledge of Ghanaian history, culture, agriculture and the basic geography of West Africa is the Basic Education Certificate.

Not necessary to travel abroad for scholarship. You can have scholarship to study in the country too. Those experts rather can be contracted by the Government and come down here to train those students in this country, inste ... read full comment

Those experts rather can be contracted by the Government and come down here to train those students in this country, instead of them travelling abroad. I conclusion, the government can let those experts come down to Ghana and teach those students here for the Solar Energy projects.

All it takes is for Dr. Osei Darkwa of GTUC, and Mr. Joseph Walker, President of the Ghana Elecrrcal Associaton to provide structured technica skills on how to install photovoltaic cells, whether for roof tops or as street lights.
Even Bangladesh is doing the installation. Does not require university education.
Talking about the problem at length, does not solve the problem. Either you provide the training yourself, or you get someone to do it.
Even without govt. intervention.
