Two former field officers of MASLOC being sought by Ho Police

Ho, Feb. 16, GNA - Two former Field Officers of the Micro-Finance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) in Ho, Edward Dzah and Paul Yevu, are being sought by the Ho Municipal Police for misappropriating funds and abandoning post.

Mr Carlos de-Souza, a lawyer with MASLOC, said this during interaction= s with journalists on Tuesday soon after leading a team to begin prosecution of some of the Centre's loan defaulters in and around Ho. He said the two who worked as Field Extension Assistants (FEAs) with original duties of collecting receipts of payments from customers for submission to the Centre, devised means of convincing the unsuspecting customers into giving them cash to pay on their behalf. Mr de-Souza said after their cover was blown, the two absconded and subsequently a complaint was made with the police to help trace their whereabouts to face prosecution.

Mr de-Souza urged anyone with information on Dzah and Yevu's whereabouts to volunteer it to the centre or the police and also advised th= e public to stop dealing with the two as MASLOC employees. Mr Victor Attiase, Acting Volta Regional Manager of MASLOC, assured th= e general public that the Centre had put measures in place to curb such incidents from happening in future.
