What type of job or position are most of these so-called demonstrators likely to be doing in Italy? Have you asked yourself these questions? Why do they throw in the matters at the Supreme Court? Where will this lead them? Calling for the EU to "intervene" betrays an extreme form of ignorance on their part.
Does the EU not have enough of its own governance problems? Have you seen Italians, Portuguese or Spanish demonstrating in other countries and calling for others to intervene in their countries? Italy is one big mess and has been for some time. This is the country where MPs can descend into a fight just because their opposing teams lost on a football pitch. And you think they have somehow a moral and other right to tell us what to do?
Why do people like you only see things in your own narrow and limited way? When will you ever think 'Ghanaian' and put aside your own selfish interests? If you (and other Ghanaians in the diaspora) have any problems with shipping your items home or customs etc. why don't you channel your grievances properly. As you have admitted in your own article, if your agenda is to embarrass the Mahama-led government, then you are most mistaken. You only do the country a disservice and a disgrace to yourself.
I am yet to see an Italian anywhere outside Italy mounting a demonstration because of the mess of the Italian political system and the fact that they even have to struggle to form a government!!! Neither have I seen Greeks, Spanish or Portuguese in other European countries demonstrating against their government. The truth be told, people like you simply see patriotism only in your narrow, myopic eyes and the cynicism which drives your ambition. It is disgraceful and unpatriotic. By the way, no external government can have any influence on proceedings in Ghana.
If you are relying on the EU, you are mistaken. They have enough problems of their own to sort out and will not poke their finger into our eyes when they have a huge log in their own. Grow up and get real people!!!
