I just wanted to point out that rather than "dozens of elephants" it is important to point out that tens of thousands of elephants have been killed in Africa over the last couple of decades. Indeed Born Free themselves suggest (from external sources) that as many as 36,000 elephants are killed each year for their ivory.

Sounds great Will. Have posted and tweeted about this so hopefully we can get President Obama to reconsider.

Will Travers and Adam Roberts with Born Free are correct in stating that President Obama's visit to their habitat with the lions would be a tremendous boost for the endangered species in South Africa, and all over the world. We have been working very hard to stop the poaching of these endangered animals, working with two young children who started their own company called One More Generation. Olivia and Carter are 10 and 12, and have been working non-stop to save the animals for three years now, traveling to South Africa themselves. They go all over the nation, delivering their message to school children, groups, and have met with Jane Goodall, and several groups to learn more about what they can do to help save the animals, and our world. They learned that one of the major problems endangering the animals was plastic, so they started a national plastic campaign. They will be returning to South Africa soon to deliver over 7,000 letters to help stop the poaching. One More Generation is doing their part to help. Olivia and Carter find the time to do incredible things, and they are only 10 and 12. Pres. Obama, I hope you will follow their lead, and visit Born Free to help save the endangered species for One More Generation, and beyond. If Olivia and Carter can do it, so can we.

Pres. Obama please let the Asian leaders know that the chemical compound of the rhino-horn and the elephant's tusk is the same as our fingernails and toe-nails. We would gladly save them for them if they would stop poaching the rhinos and elephants for their horns, believing they have medicinal purposes, which they do not. They use them in their soups and medicines: Our fingernails will work just as well. They are welcome to them. I realize they have a long tradition of doing this; however, we will no longer have endangered species at the rate they are being poached this year. They have become militant, using military tactics. If we want our lions, elephants, and rhinos around for One More Generation, and beyond, we must take action now to prevent further poaching. Please help us save them for our children, and theirs. If Olivia and Carter with One More Generation can do it, so can you, so can we. Thank you.
