Ghana has nothing to celebrate, whether in Nyakpala, Timkobo, Nandom, New York or Toronto. Shame on us. We have become a country of thieves and lawless people; a country where any politician says or does anything stupid and gets away with it; a country where lawlessness is democratized by "comrades" who understand revolution as disrespect for the law of the land. Once that is done, the new executives can now approach the youth leadership for any discussion. Without that, the youth will see no reason to listen to people who have no vision for the community they lead.

It is quite simple. The demographics have changed. The Ghanaians under 34 living in the Western World do not enjoy the traditional Ghana dinner dance format with speeches. That cannot change. Whoever is in charge has to simply do a better job of advertising to the adult crowd. If I were under 34 I would not attend the typical Ghanaian function either.

The truth is that most Ghanaians living in Toronto are akans and akans are known to be very partisan and wouldn't want anything to do with national celebration when their party of preference is not in power

Also most of our gatherings are poorly organised couple with leaders who are supposedly learned but speak very poor and boring english.
You waste time to go and sit there but learn nothing return home angry.No need !!
