24 hour economy is not new thing in Ghana, but the government should explain to the masses how his policy is going to work because before you can implement such policy certain structures should be put in place or if thesestructures are there you think about it's efficiency interms of operation. Any country running 24 hour economy you can see that the system is working ,I mean system like security, power, advanced IT SYSTEM and a whole lot. 24 hour economy is effective in advanced countries but not a country where the system is not working.

Is 24 hour economy actually a government policy? Does is it mean government offices will be accessible at dawn? Because that is the only portion that the government have control. Assuming the government gives incentives for private companies to work day and night, don't we think companies will only use that as means to enjoy the incentive without necessarily working 24 hours. Because any company whose services requires 24 hours to benefit will not go sleep. Once it is demand driven who will operate till 5pm and close his work till the next morning? Basically operating 24 hours is demand driven not a governmental policy. The miners have remained 24 hours since time in memorial and is as result of their profit not because a government has policy in place to motivate them. Don't get deceived. It is a company's profit oriented demand not a government policy. This has the tendency to create loose and share.

24-hour economy is not a policy. How robust is our economy?
This 24-hour whatever that politicians cannot explain to their supporters is mind-boggling be any 24-hour economy is based primarily on "Demand and Supply". In the advance economies, when the economy heats up workers work around the clock but if things slow down, workers are laid because demand becomes less.
So, how can Mahama tell me that if there are no demand, he is going to force companies, factories to keep workers despite the sluggishness of the economy?
