If Dr. JB Danquah did not do anything for the GoldCoast, now Ghana, one can attest to the fact that he was one of the architects of Ghana's Independence.

We have spent over half a century fighting over the same issues like a broken record. Where has that landed us? Abject poverty; deplorable conditions, lawlessness; leadership crisis, unreliable energy supply, poor sanitation standards; lack of potable water; unmotorable roads; and falling educational standards. Yet we still continue the fight.
We see everything in absolutes. Nkrumah provided all that is right with Ghana today; Danquah and co who initiated the consciousness amongst our people to fight for freedom did all the unthinkable to prevent independence. No one has paused to think about why our Constitution has certain provisions. It was because of Nkrumah's dictatorial conduct when President of Ghana.
What the present generation should be asking is: why are we talking about Nkrumah and Danquah, several decades after their death? It is because they impacted their country positively with some of their actions. What would the writer of this obnoxious article be remembered for? Is it for praising a regime which dehumanised Ghanaians and murdered Judges?
We have to learn from our history alright but not this distorted one. Have we asked ourselves why majority of those who follow the Danquah tradition are those who have made something out of their lives? It is because they value education. The PNDC followers only have to come into government to achieve in their personal lives. They thrive on deceit and propaganda. That only festers in a country where ignorance is cultivated and that is why they are presiding over falling educational standards.
Clement, get a life! If you feel able to attack a man, 48 years after his death, then he was a great man even to you. You are just not man enough to admit that fact.
