An Asante headed NPP cannot win the election without the vote of the Akyems and an Akyem headed NPP cannot win the elections without the vote of the Asantes. But anytime an Akyem is heading our party then some Asantes had to come up something. Do you want to visit 1979 PFP Victor Owusu(Asante) and Ofori Atta(Paa Willie, Akyem) era? When Paa Willie broke away from PFP to form the Convention party what happened? PFP lost which enabled Liman's PNP to win. So Akyems vote is also powerful to the NPP. Even Kufour or Kufive chose Kyeremanteng over Akufo-Addo and he brought factions into the party. We know the tricks of the Asantes since time immemorial when their tribes man is not heading the party.
Maybe you can use Kwaku Duah to intimidate the other tribes but just remember that Ayems are in a class of their own.

The campaign to bring the Ashanti stool into disrepute will not go down well with majority of people of Ashanti. In the long run it will backfire and will come to haunt you lot in the future elections. It will be in the interest of NPP party to advise its followers to stop dragging Asantehene to their dirty politics.

Why then, does the likes of Damptey, want Manhyia to speak out? Did he ask those politicians to clear the air about their characters being questioned? Didn't their foot-soldiers
