I completely shudder at the package of complains from this man.Is it complains for the sake of it or meant in a positive way to achieve positive results in the interest of the people of Ghana.Or is it part of the cheap political point scoring which had become weapon of closet npp professionals.
There is this this single spine pay structure that was ill initiated and instead of Doctors lecturers and other sector of the economy understanding that this govt is overstretched with pay demands people like Caseley Hayford are making a case out of it and are feeding on it as a failure of govt.
I believe the catalogue of complaints by this writer and his call to remedy the situation promptly is an unrealistic demand.Any genuine person wishing the country well will not dwell on difficulties that will be part of a nation no matter how efficient. The right approach is to come out with positive solutions that will alleviate the situation.Pointing to district council election which can only be done by law is not a solution to the problem.Taking a hype at Tony Aidoo without going into the merits of his units set up and mission is carrying his arrogance too far.

Nii, do you want to tell the Ghanaian people that if we don't have solution for any problem we shouldn't even talk about it? Is this your stand. Come better than this.

Maxwell,Casely Hayford who has a background in finance is suppose to identify problem areas in our economy and recommend solutions instead of his catalogue of complains without solutions.
The problem with the present difficulties in our economy has been identified as structural and therefore the main immediate challenge is the need to safeguard stability, by rebuilding fiscal and external buffers. This was brought about by a rising public sector wage bill and costly energy subsides which led to a near tripling of the cash deficit to 12 per cent of GDP in 2012.
It is said that structural problems in the energy sector also pose risks to growth and economic transformation, while the concentration of exports in three commodities—gold, cocoa, and oil—makes the economy vulnerable to terms of trade shocks.
The government therefore recognise that regaining control over the public wage bill is a priority and that achieving their fiscal deficit target of nine per cent of GDP in 2013 and six pe rcent in 2015 will additionally require further efforts in public financial management and revenue administration.
In support of the government’ growth and development agenda, it has been recommended that a gradual reduction in interest rates through fiscal consolidation; a realignment of spending away from wages and subsidies toward investment; Energy sector reforms, including cost-recovery pricing to improve the financial situation of energy providers. These are practical solution to our present predicament.
