Thanks for this piece and the previous one. I am now enjoying your pieces since you have moved away from the blanket endorsement of NDC that used to be the centerpiece of your previous articles. kudos.

Dr Bokor,
For once I totally agree with you. Ghana's Parliament is not working, and every Ghanaian ought to be angry about it. The amount of money they are paid, the freebies and the ESBs are all a total waste of the Ghanaian taxpayer's resources.
For twenty years, the Attorney-General has chronicled annually plain daylight robbery by government departments and other state institutions, many of them headed by MPs, but nobody has ever been prosecuted or even reprimanded for this annual thievery.
We need to agitate for regional governments that will be supervised by a national chamber made up of two elected representatives from every region or an electoral college elected on the basis of regional population whose only duty will be to scrutinise legislation made by the regional and district assemblies, when there is a dispute.
The way this Parliament simply approves child molesters, rapists, wife beaters and judgement debt rogues among others, is just an insult to the intelligence of every Ghanaian, including the present and all past presidents!

So pity, I read your article and I am no doubt about it. I believed every word from you. Is a shame if you don't have incompetent leadership, with discipline, decent, honesty,God fearing and respect, that is what you come across a parliament like at this stage in our MODEN Ghana . These people have never in a million years ever dream of coming to a parliament and putting a suit and tie on ever. Well i am not surprised at all. Bcos at anytime I watch news on TV I feel shame seeing even the way these pe,ople sit on their seats inside the parliament, like they are in their private house. The way they open their mouth and scream on each other wow, i normally get sick. The whole of the parliament is full of FOGU and why I don't know, the useless so called presidents I have ever come across in my whole entire live are RAWLINGS MAHAMA PERIOD

What do expect from desert to coast. These pepefu have brought all their FUGU into the parliament and just look how ugly they all look including their leader MAHAMA. I am even praying for the Jubilee House, just imagine what is going on there. I have never leaved with these Northerners neither any contact with them. So I can see how a new presidential house will look like after their 2016. My idea is to demolish and build a new one. So we the native Ghanaian wouldn't have any effection . The seat is very ht for mahama, who the cap fit, let them wear it. Kwame Nkrumah forward ever

I believe parliament is essential to good governance, however it will be a good idea to make laws, which will allow the people to dis-select any poor performing MP.
