We have witnessed the same situation in Zimbabwe,where the prescription of our home-grown 'Adam Smith',has failed to do the trick.
I heard Bawumiah touting the key role of the mfg. sector,but were they not the group responsible for giving such a big boost to this so-called "Kotobeton"[buy & sell] economy we are stuck with today?

Why now, Razak Kojo Opoku? The redenomination was done in 2006/07 and from 2009 to date the NDC has been in power. Why did the NDC not make noise or perhaps revert us to the days of carrying sacks of worthless cedis to the bank when they took over power from 2009? Was Mahama sleeping when the election petition was being heard? Before the redenomination was implemented 9000 cedis exchanged for $1.00 and the cedi was denominated in thousands and millions - it had no value. Let's praise Dr Bawumia for the wisdom he exhibited whilst at the Bank of Ghana. The rot in the economy was begun by the NDC under Rawlings, accelerated by Prof Mills (giving $26 million to Woyome for doing nothing) and is being continued by Mahama who over-spent the Presidency's budget in 2012 by 8 billion Ghana Cedis just to enable him win power. Please do not take your eyes from the numerous allegation of corruption under the NDC government - Gyeeda, SADA, the magic Nkomfem etc. The economy of Ghana is very weak because it has been mismanaged by the NDC governments. Every Ghanaian knows this.
