Even though we might be more educated than they are.

On many occassions, I was always alone on a seat in a bus which was meant for two or three persons. As if that is not enought, I was always isolated even in a place of worship, the church. Nobody sits by me, and initially, I struggled to pay my offering since the collectors would never come nearer me until I decided to force my way through. That is the life we´ve got to deal with. They cover their noses when they are about to come into contact with you ot by pass you. Sadly, we give them all the attentions that they do not deserve when they come here. They are the most dirtiest and stinking living things on earth but yet, they feel superior. Komla, rest in Peace!

This doesn't compute! Surely Komla is not the only hard working, brilliant talented young ambitious Ghanaian there was or even been but he is on a pedestal now because he worked for the BBC at the frontline when others before him have been at the back scene. I wonder therefore if it was the Ghanaians who mysteriously own the BBC who showcased Komla's precious talents as opposed to the racist Brits. Please help me writer, I also doubt that you were in a professional middle class employment as Komla was when you were in the UK . They don't have tea breaks together and when you get that kind of abuse from your colleagues as Komla said it will be subtle. Mind you, had Komla not died he would have been fronting for the BBC in Brazil in the summer and poor Ghanaians will be lapping up the honour done to them by the British licence payer . I doubt that there will be the clamour for state funerals, honours etc had the BBC otherwise known as white racist Brits not put this dark skinned Ghanaian on the world stage. Even in his beloved Ghana ,you are not handsome or pretty if you are not light skinned, so if you ask me the Brits did a damn good job with Komla and gave Ghanaians the gift that they are now so proud of. Incidentally another journalist who was even younger than Komla died on the same day, I suggest you write to eulogise him too. Tell me now how bad the Brits have been!

Good comment.You are certainly one of the very few who seem to recognize the absurdity of people calling Komla "great" because he was the "African voice" of the bbc.Incredibly skilful BBC propaganda seems to have taken captive the minds of our most educated. Alas our people have no idea that few if any of our people working in the U.K.and elsewhere abroad ,however elevated their position are ever spared continuos exposure to racism subtle and not so subtle.Everyone seems to be caught up in this surreal image of Dumor that they have created in their imaginations .It is almost too cruel to smash their self imposed illusion of the glorified BBC employee Dumor. Few of them will ever know the daily heartache Komla had to endure as a result of the constant reminder by British colleagues that he was a rank outsider.That is the cruel reality of living and working abroad. Pray for your brothers and sisters, parents or children living abroad,even those seemingly flourishing because you have no idea of the heartache and stress they probably have toendure daily.

The British are racist to the core. My academic supervisor refused to read through my MA dissertation simply because I refused to compare a phenomenon in Ghana and that of Britain. The best practice in academia is the supervisor must at least read through chapters and pass comments but my female supervisor refused to do that, telling me she was not my secretary and her anger stemmed from the fact that I wrote on Ghana eventhough initially we decided that i make a comparative study. A whole lot of impediments would have made it impossible for me gather data in London simply I had to seek for police clearance and many other things. The British are racist
